1. Agreement to Terms

Welcome to Second Turn Games.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Second Turn Games platform ("Platform", "Service", "we", "our", or "us"). By creating an account or using our Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you also wish to sell games, you must additionally agree to our Seller Agreement. If you do not agree, you may not use our Service.

2. Platform Description

Second Turn Games is a marketplace that connects buyers and sellers of pre-owned board games in the Baltic region. We provide the platform for users to list and discover board games. We do not buy, sell, or own any games, and the actual contract of sale is strictly between the buyer and the seller.

However, for Claim this game transactions, we act as the seller's authorized commercial agent solely to conclude the sale and securely collect your payment on their behalf.

In plain terms

Think of us as the venue. We provide the space for you to meet and trade, and we securely handle the money and shipping labels. But the actual purchase is between you and the other person.

What we do: Provide a platform, facilitate communication, act as a payment collection agent for sellers, generate shipping labels, and host user-generated content.

What we do NOT do: Guarantee the quality or authenticity of items, guarantee delivery, or provide EU consumer guarantees.

3. Consumer Protection Notice

All sellers on Second Turn Games are private individuals, not businesses.

This means EU consumer protection laws (like the 14-day right of withdrawal and 2-year conformity guarantee) do not apply to purchases made here.

In plain terms

This is more like buying at a flea market than from a shop. There is no 14-day return right, no 2-year guarantee. Check the photos, ask questions, and make sure you are happy before you buy.

Even without EU consumer guarantees, our platform provides payment protection for Instant Buy orders (funds are held until delivery is confirmed) and a 2-day dispute window.

4. User Accounts

  • You must be at least 16 years old to use this Platform.
  • You must provide accurate information and may not share your account.
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account.
  • You may delete your account at any time from your account settings, provided you complete any active orders and pending withdrawals first.
  • Transaction records are retained for 90 days for dispute resolution and legal compliance.

5. Game Listings & Transactions

Listings are offered as Claim this game (secure payment and shipping handled through the platform) or Message seller (users arrange payment and delivery directly). Listings can have a Fixed price or be set up as an Auction.

5.1 Payment Authorization & Deadlines (Instant Buy)

When you use Claim this game, Second Turn provides a secure payment process. Because we act as the authorized agent for the seller, once you pay us successfully, your payment obligation to the seller is completely settled. To ensure a smooth marketplace, all Claim this game transactions follow this timeline:

  1. Seller Confirmation: Sellers must confirm the order within 24 hours.
  2. Shipping: Sellers must ship via the designated parcel terminal within 2 business days after confirming.
  3. Buyer Verification: Buyers have 2 days after delivery to check the game.
  4. Completion: The order completes automatically 2 days after delivery, releasing funds to the seller.

5.2 Fees and Shipping

Buyers pay the listed price plus a flat-rate shipping fee; sellers pay a platform commission deducted from the item price. For current rates and detailed breakdowns, see our Payments & Fees guide.

6. Disputes, Returns, and Refunds

For Claim this game orders, buyers have 2 days after delivery to report a problem through the platform. Returns and refunds are available only if:

  • The item is significantly not as described (e.g., wrong edition, missing major components).
  • The item was damaged during shipping.
  • The item was not received.

We cannot help with "changed my mind" returns or minor condition differences consistent with the listed grade. If you miss the 2-day window, the order automatically completes, and sales are final.

7. Content Moderation & Prohibited Conduct

You may NOT violate laws, engage in fraud, list counterfeit items, harass users, misrepresent items, or abuse the dispute system. We moderate content and may remove listings, warn users, or suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

8. Intellectual Property & Limitations

You retain ownership of the content you post, but grant us a license to use it to operate the Platform. The Platform is provided "AS IS", and we do not guarantee the quality, safety, or authenticity of items. Our maximum liability is limited to €100 or the service fees you paid us in the past 12 months, whichever is greater.

9. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Latvia. Disputes with Second Turn Games SIA should first be directed to info@secondturn.games. Unresolved disputes may be referred to the Consumer Rights Protection Centre of Latvia (PTAC) or the courts of Riga, Latvia. User-to-user disputes remain strictly between the users.
